Outsourced service transformation
Outsourced services are sometimes assumed to be constant, static, long term; but in practice no business is like this. We have been involved in multiple examples of large scale outsourced operations, some predicated on transformation from the start, others where naturally things change over time and the proverbial “super-tanker” wasn’t agile enough to keep up.
In the most recent example, a relationship of over twelve years became strained and uncomfortable - left unresolved it was likely to break. We provided an external perspective, challenged accepted norms on both sides, analysed data, process and behaviours in detail and drove fundamental change - which meant compromise and accommodation on both sides - this was achieved through open dialogue, reset relationships and a rebuilt trust. In practice everyone wants to do a good job and to make a relationship a success but that takes work, collaboration and focus. Neither transformation nor long term service delivery are easy, and require continuous forward progress to survive.
Outcomes: Improved service delivery, realistic expectations and ongoing open dialogue
